Are you looking for an alternative to Letterboxd? This makes CineIndex different

Letterboxd is a reference for recording and sharing cinema. CineIndex does not try to copy your social network: it focuses on organizing your film library and turning pending titles into a concrete decision.

01

Two products with different priorities

Letterboxd stands out for its profiles, reviews, social activity and film community. CineIndex is designed around a more immediate question: of everything you have saved, what are you going to see today?

You can search for movies, create lists, record dates, reviews, ratings and comments. The difference appears when the time comes to choose: your lists become the source of filters, direct elections or duels.

02

What you can transfer from Letterboxd

Letterboxd allows you to download an export of your data. CineIndex can read the compatible files of that copy to recover lists, watchlists, journals, views and ratings. The process starts from the file that you choose and does not need your Letterboxd password.

Matches are completed with data from TMDB. Before saving, you can review the import result and then continue organizing the library in CineIndex.

  • Watchlist and custom lists.
  • Movies watched and diary dates.
  • Ratings, likes, comments and reviews supported.
03

The difference is in going from saving to choosing

A to-do list can grow for years without helping you choose. In CineIndex you can open a list - for example "Cinema Sundays" -, limit it by duration, genre or platform and request a single candidate with Choose for me.

If you want to participate in the decision, El Corte takes eight candidates and compares them two by two until reaching a winner. It also includes a set mode to toggle choices.

04

Which one suits you

If you're primarily looking for community, following profiles, and posting reviews, Letterboxd retains a clear advantage. If your problem is organizing plans and deciding between your pending tasks, CineIndex offers a more direct flow.

You don't have to choose one forever. You can maintain your social presence wherever you prefer and use CineIndex for your decision lists. Importing allows you to start with your history instead of rebuilding it manually.
